What People Are Saying
“Kimmy has the very special gift of reaching all children equally, stemming from the very shy, and the very energetic, to the special needs child with her music. Her incorporation of sign language, use of puppets, storytelling, movement and dance to her songs are just a few of the reasons why child participation is so high. Our program here at The Green House Preschool and Kindergarten has also been enriched by the quality of music specially designed to meet the need for our program, and by the level of professionalism that Kimmy exhibits every week, without fail to not just our children, but to our staff as well. Everybody looks forward to Music Day! One trait that I most admire about Kimmy is her ability to really listen to the children. She doesn’t only acknowledge them at the beginning and ending of her time with us. She gives them her undivided attention as she converses with each child individually. Without exception, Kimmy makes everybody feel special at our school with her love of music and wisdom of children and people.”

“Since we added Kimmy’s curriculum to our school, we have seen improvements in many areas such as social skills, language development, and positive interaction among peers. Music has become one of our main focuses in order to help develop self-esteem and individuality. This program has inspired our 99% Spanish speaking school to learn English as a second language.”

“There are many reasons that children need to have musical experiences in the classroom. One reason is that they develop confidence in their own abilities to express themselves. They can tell others whether they are happy, sad, lonely, excited, or scared just by singing a song or moving their body. [Music also] helps children learn to cooperate, follow directions, and develop social relationships. Kimmy Schwimmy has found a way to combine music with education in a way that opens the child up to receive and retain information that we as educators are already bringing to them from our curriculum. Thank you, Kimmy, for helping me enhance my program in such a fun, energetic, and memorable way!”

“Kimmy’s original songs and rhymes offer abundant, fun opportunities for stimulating speech and language development, fine and gross body movement.”

“After having a ‘traditional’ music teacher, I feel blessed to expose my classrooms to the music and the experience that Kimmy Schwimmy brings every week. Her music is a wonderful transition from the infant and toddler musical world, into what my kindergarten-aged children deem ‘cool’ music. Kimmy Schwimmy does not cross over into the ‘tween’ realm, which is something I really appreciate as an educator and a music lover. Days after music is over, I often find my students humming ‘Ow Wee Ka Zow Wee’ and ‘We Are Band of Pirates.’ The music that she brings is not only catchy, it is applicable to concepts that early elementary-aged students need to be exposed to. It is difficult to find music that is appropriate for this age group and also enjoyable for an adult audience. Kimmy Schwimmy has managed to find a unique and interactive way of bringing music to children; exposing the true rock star within each child. Kudos to her, as that is not an easy feat.”
